We’re now in the home stretch, with less than one month to go before the November elections. And Florida voters will have a huge say in whether Second Amendment advocates or anti-gunners control the U.S. Congress.

Gun Owners of America Political Victory Fund is very active in the Sunshine State, and I want to make sure you have the very latest on the candidates who support your right to keep and bear arms.

You no doubt agree that this may be the most important election of our lifetimes, but may I suggest that it may be more than that. The 2010 elections very well may be the most important for generations to come.

This country is clearly at a crossroads, and it is no exaggeration to say that our Constitutional Republic hangs in the balance. Will we continue down the road of the anti-gun socialism of Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid? Or will we begin the necessary task of reining in the out-of-control federal government?

There are candidates in Florida who are up to the task, and I want to make sure they are on your radar screen.

Marco Rubio for U.S. Senate

Gun Owners of America is the only national Second Amendment organization to support Marco Rubio for Senate. Rubio, the son of parents who fled Cuba after Castro’s takeover, is a solid pro-gun leader who consistently stood for the right to keep and bear arms in the Florida legislature. Thanks to an outpouring of support from concerned gun owners, Rubio chased Governor Charlie Crist out of the Republican primary—and out of the Republican Party. And once he decided to run as an independent, who did Crist hire to help run his campaign? The former Chief of Staff for notorious gun grabber Charles Schumer of New York!

The Democrat on the ballot in November, Kendrick Meek, is also anti-gun, having earned an F- rating from GOA. Marco Rubio will stand up to the anti-gun schemes of President Obama and his allies in the Senate. Please vote for Marco Rubio for Senate, and encourage your pro-gun family and friends do the same.

Steve Southerland for Congress, District 2

Gun Owners of America has endorsed Steve Southerland for Congress in Florida’s Second District. Steve earned an “A” rating from GOA based on his unwavering commitment to individual liberty. A fourth generation Floridian from Bay County, Mr. Southerland summarized why he is willing to take time away from his family business to serve in Congress. “I have had enough of the secular progressive movement’s attempts to rewrite history, as if the Constitution and Bill of Rights refer only to the power of the government and not to the rights of the individual as ‘the people,’” writes Southerland.

“May God help us if we ever lose our right to bear arms, for if we do, tyranny will quickly be ushered in.”

His opponent is Congressman Allen Boyd, who likes to play both sides of the gun issue and often votes with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Boyd is a so-called Blue Dog Democrat who opposed GOA’s efforts to repeal a gun ban in national parks. Boyd also voted for ObamaCare, despite repeated warnings from GOA that the law does not contain safeguards to keep the government from using a medical records database to strip people of their gun rights. 'I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan.'

1) 'The US, UK , CANADA and AUSTRALIA will apologize to the world for our 'interference' in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those 'good 'ole' boys', we will never 'interfere' again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea , the Middle East, and the Philippines . They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are from. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5) No foreign 'students' over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a 'D' and it's back home baby.

6) The US, UK , CANADA and AUSTRALIA will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not 'interfere.' They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us 'Ugly Americans' any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH...learn it...or LEAVE. Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?

AMERICA(NS) NEEDS TO WAKE UP!

When WW III Started - 1979

This is not very long, but very informative You have to read the
catalogue of events in this brief piece. Then, ask yourself how anyone
can take the position that all we have to do is bring our troops home
from Iraq, reset the snooze alarm, go back to sleep, and no one will
ever bother us again. In case you missed it, World War III began in
November 1979...

US Navy Captain Ouimette is the Executive Officer at Naval Air Station,
Pensacola , Florida . Here is a copy of the speech he gave last month (2004).
It is an accurate account of why we are in so much trouble today and why
this action is so necessary.

That's what we think we heard on the 11th of September 2001 (When more
than 3,000 Americans were killed) and maybe it was, but I think it
should have been 'Get Out of Bed!' In fact, the alarm clock has been
buzzing since 1979 and we have continued to hit the snooze button and
roll over for a few more minutes of peaceful sleep since then.

November 1979
It was a cool fall day in November 1979 in a country going through a
religious and political upheaval when a group of Iranian students
attacked and seized the American Embassy in Tehran. This seizure was an
outright attack on American soil; it was an attack that held the world's
most powerful country hostage and paralyzed a Presidency The attack on
this sovereign U. S. Embassy set the stage for events to follow for the
next 25 years.

America was still reeling from the aftermath of the Vietnam experience
and had a serious threat from the Soviet Union when then,President
Carter, had to do something. He chose to conduct a clandestine raid in
the desert. The ill-fated mission ended in ruin, but stood as a symbol
of America's inability to deal with terrorism

America 's military had been decimated and down sized since the end of
the Vietnam War. A poorly trained, poorly equipped and poorly organized
military was called on to execute a complex mission that was doomed from
the start.

Shortly after the Tehran experience, Americans began to be kidnapped and
killed throughout the Middle East . America could do little to protect
her citizens living and working abroad. The attacks against US soil
continued.

April of 1983
In April of 1983 a large vehicle packed with high explosives was driven
into the US Embassy compound in Beirut When it explodes, it kills 63
people. The alarm went off again and America hit the Snooze Button once
more.

October 1983
Then just six short months later in 1983 a large truck heavily laden
down with over 25 00 pounds of TNT smashed through the main gate of the
US Marine Corps headquarters in Beirut and 241 US servicemen are killed.
America mourns her dead and hit the Snooze Button once more.

December 1983
Two months later in December 1983, another truck loaded with explosives
is driven into the US Embassy in Kuwait , and America continues her
slumber.

September 1984
The following year, in September 1984, another van was driven into the
gate of the US Embassy in Beirut and America slept.

April 1985
Soon the terrorism spreads to Europe . In April 1985 a bomb explodes in
a restaurant frequented by US soldiers in Madrid

August 1985
Then in August 1985 a Volkswagen loaded with explosives is driven into
the main gate of the US Air Force Base at Rheine-Main, 22 are killed and
the snooze alarm is buzzing louder and louder as US interests are
continually attacked.

November 1985
Fifty-nine days later in 1985 a cruise ship, the Achille Lauro is
hijacked and we watched as an American in a wheelchair is singled out of
the passenger list and executed.

April of 1986
The terrorists then shift their tactics to bombing civilian airliners
when they bomb TWA Flight 840 in April of 1986 that killed 4 and the
most tragic bombing, Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland in
1988, killing 259.

The wake up alarm is getting louder and louder.

January 1993
The terrorists decide to bring the fight to America. In January 1993,
two CIA agents are shot and killed as they enter CIA headquarters in
Langley, Virginia

February 1993
The following month, February 1993, a group of terrorists are arrested
after a rented van packed with explosives is driven into the underground
parking garage of the World Trade Center in New York City. Six people
are killed and over 1000 are injured. Still this is a crime and not an
act of war? The Snooze alarm is depressed again.

November 1995
Then in November 1995 a car bomb explodes at a US military complex in
Riyadh Saudi Arabia killing seven service men and women.

June of 1996
A few months later in June of 1996, another truck bomb explodes only 35
yards from the US military compound in Dhahran , Saudi Arabia . It
destroys the Khobar Towers , a US Air Force barracks, killing 19 and
injuring over 500. The terrorists are getting braver and smarter as they
see that America does not respond decisively.

They move to coordinate their attacks in a simultaneous attack on two US
embassies in Kenya and Tanzania . These attacks were planned with
precision. They kill 224. America responds with cruise missile attacks
and goes back to sleep.

12 October 2000
The USS Cole was docked in the port of Aden, Yemen for refueling on 12
October 2000 , when a small craft pulled alongside the ship and
exploded killing 17 US Navy Sailors. Attacking a US War Ship is an act
of war, but we sent the FBI to investigate the crime and went back to
sleep.

11 September 2001
And of course you know the events of 11 September 2001. Most Americans
think this was the first attack against US soil or in America . How
wrong they are. America has been under a constant attack since 1979 and
we chose to hit the snooze alarm and roll over and go back to sleep.

In the news lately we have seen lots of finger pointing from every high
official in government over what they knew and what they didn't know.
But if you've read the papers and paid a little attention I think you
can see exactly what they knew. You don't have to be in the FBI or CIA
or on the National Security Council to see the pattern that has been
developing since 1979.

I think we have been in a war for the past 31 years (as of 2010) and it will continue until we as a people decide enough is enough. America needs to 'Get out of Bed' and act decisively now. America has been changed forever.
We have to be ready to pay the price and make the sacrifice to ensure our
way of life continues. We cannot afford to keep hitting the snooze
button again and again and roll over and go back to sleep.

After the attack on Pearl Harbor , Admiral Yamamoto said

'... it seems all we have done is awakened a sleeping giant.'

This is the message we need to disseminate to terrorists around the world.

This is not a political thing to be hashed over in an election year,
this is an AMERICAN thing. This is about our Freedom and the Freedom of
our children in years to come.

I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment
Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America ; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, which is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE?

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion.

I have the right 'NOT' to be tolerant of others because they are different,
weird, or tick me off.

When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling; it is the Law of Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a

I think the police should have every right to shoot you if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word 'freeze' or 'stop' in English, see the above lines..

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document and open to their
interpretations.

I don't hate the rich; I don't pity the poor.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue
to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.

It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid and say 'NO!' when necessary.

I think tattoos and piercings are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!

I am sick of 'Political Correctness.' I know a lot of black people, and not

The "minority" person had a gun. Let's see now - he must have gotten it at one of those "evil" gun shops or a gun show which would require a mandatory State & Federal background check on him - which is required for all NON-criminals!

But just for the record - criminals do NOT buy their guns "legally" - just in case one did not know that!

The white guy is dead because the "minority" person was not guilty from other previous heinous crimes of violence with - what? - the "evil" gun!

And this American hero spent his life keeping this "minority" person safe so he can do his evil deeds within the "freedom" here in the USA.

I say that this "minority" person is no better than a "terrorist" - and in fact is a "terrorist"! - who just happens to be living in & out of the US's embarrassing "penal" system.

You could be the next "victim" of our social disease! Believe it! And believe this - it is not gun "control" that will stop this evil cancer within our society! It is replacement of ignorance - pure ignorance - of the media's oriented fear targeted towards the non-minority population.

Replacement of ignorance (which is not the same as stupidity) with the "facts" and Truth" of this issue and many other issues in the balance in these last days is sooooooooooo important to victory for righteousness sake!

PS - I saw a bumper sticker, "If I would have known that it was gonna turn out like this - I would have picked the damn cotton myself!"

I must say that I am not a minority (as of today anyway) and also that half of my relatives were German, but that does not make me a Nazi! Same with you, whatever your race or nationality. The point is - where do you stand in our society? What are your beliefs & convictions? If you take offense to me calling these scum bags to accountability - then maybe you are like the Germans who did nothing while Nazis violated the life & liberty of others!

Targeting Harry Reid

Time for McCain to Go
In Arizona, GOA-PVF is supporting the candidacy of J.D. Hayworth against anti-gunner John McCain in the Republican primary. McCain, of course, is infamous for legislation to stifle the First Amendment rights of groups like GOA . Thankfully, a large chunk of that legislation was recently struck down by the Supreme Court. But McCain is just as much against the Second Amendment as he is against the First. In the run-up to his presidential race in 2000, McCain authored a bill that would have closed down gun shows. He also became a spokesman for the anti-gun group Americans for Gun Safety, appearing in ads pushing for several gun control referendums.

J.D. Hayworth earned an “A” rating from GOA during his twelve years in the U.S. House.

Florida Senate Race
GOA-PVF was also the only national gun rights organization to support Marco Rubio in his primary challenge against Gov. Charlie Crist in the Florida primary, months before Crist decided to run as an Independent.

Rubio, a first generation American whose parents fled Castro’s Cuba in 1970, is a seasoned pro-gun champion who rose to the position of Speaker of the House in the Florida legislature.

An outspoken Second Amendment advocate, Mr. Rubio drew national attention when he commented on the chaos that followed the 2009 elections in Iran : “I have a feeling the situation in Iran would be a little different if they had a Second Amendment like ours,” Rubio tweeted. Mr. Rubio understands that America ’s Founding Fathers considered the Second Amendment a final safeguard against government tyranny and oppression. “Like the rest of our Constitution, I believe the Second Amendment is a cornerstone of our democracy,” said Mr. Rubio.

Kentucky: Bucking the Establishment

GOA-PVF is also engaged in the Republican primary in Kentucky on behalf of Dr. Rand Paul, who is running against party favorite and Secretary of State Trey Grayson in the May 18 election.

As I had lunch with an old friend in late August, we spent a great deal of time commiserating and sharing our frustration over what has been happening to our country over the last fifty-plus years. He suddenly stopped in mid-sentence, and suggested to me that I should write a song to echo the feelings and emotions shared by so many Americans at this time. He said, “Murray, you need to write a song to ask God to bless America or the U.S.A.”

I told him that both of those songs had been done, but what we really need today is to ask God to save America because He has blessed us, beyond our wildest dreams, and look at what we have done. We have stood idly by and watched individuals, organizations, and government systematically remove any and all evidence of God from our buildings, our schools, and tell us that we can no longer pray in public. The God who inspired the creators of our republic to pledge their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor for the birth of our nation is the same God that we have progressively turned our backs on. As a result, we now find ourselves to be a nation in crisis. My friend then replied, “This is precisely the reason you need to write the song.”

Ten days later, after much thought and prayer, I had completed “God Save the U.S.A.” and was ready to begin recording the words and music that God put in my heart. I have never considered myself an overly religious man, but I do believe in God and I do believe in the power of prayer. I also believe that there are many of you who share my feelings and I hope that this musical prayer will be a source of inspiration to you as we resolve to return our country to its rightful owners, “We the people” and God Almighty.

American Socialist Medical (Health?) Care Plan (UN-Planned!)

Let me get this straight......the A-holes in the US Congress passed a health care plan . . .

*written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it,
*passed by a Congress that hasn't read it AND exempts themselves from it,
*to be signed by a president that also hasn't read it and who smokes tobacco,
*with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes,
*all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and
*financed by "We the People" because the Federal Government CLAIMS that the US is broke!

If I remember correctly, the US Government is made up of 2 parts, the united States (because at one time they were not united!) and the Federal Government. The Federal was created by "WE The People" who were people living within the States. This creation was a result of the necessity to protect the common borders from foreign aggression and to establish a standard monetary system for exchange purposes and other needs at that time in history. The original designation, as a result of this action was, the united States (in order to perform a more "perfect" union . . .)
Federal government consisted of the:
*Legislative (Congress),
*Judiciary (Courts), and
*Executive (El Presidanti - the friggin king!)

Were Muslims in America when the Pilgrims first landed? NO! Those were Native American Indians.

Can you show me one Muslim signature on the United States Constitution, Declaration of Independence or the Bill of Rights?

Didn't think so.

Did Muslims fight for this country's freedom from England? NO!

Did Muslims fight during the Civil War to free the slaves in America? NO, they did not. In fact, Muslims to this day are still the largest traffickers in human slavery. Your own half brother, a devout Muslim, still advocates slavery, even though Muslims of Arabic descent refer to black Muslims as "pug nosed slaves". Says a lot of what the Muslim world really thinks of your family's "rich Islamic heritage," doesn't it Mr. Obama?

Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era of this country? Not present. There are no pictures or media accounts of Muslims walking side by side with Martin Luther King, Jr. or helping to advance the cause of Civil Rights.

Where were Muslims during this country's Woman's Suffrage era? Again, not present. In fact, devout Muslims demand that women are subservient to men in the Islamic culture. So much so, that often they are beaten for not wearing the 'hajib' or for talking to a man who is not a direct family member or their husband. Muslims are NOT for women's rights, are they?

Where were Muslims during World War II? They were aligned with Adolf Hitler! The Muslim grand mufti himself met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazi's in killing Jews.

Where were Muslims on Sept. 11th, 2001? If they weren't flying planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon or a field in Pennsylvania killing nearly 3,000 people on US soil, they were rejoicing in the Middle East. No one can dispute the pictures shown from all parts of the Muslim world celebrating on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and other cable news networks that day. Strangely, the very "moderate" Muslims whose asses you bent over backwards to kiss in Cairo, Egypt on June 4th were stone cold silent post 9-11. Finally, Mr. Obama, we can add November 5, 2009 - the slaughter of American soldiers at Fort Hood by a Muslim major who is a doctor and a psychiatrist who was supposed to be counseling soldiers returning from battle in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California has now identified with certainty the heaviest element known to science.

The new element, Pelosium (PL), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.

Pelosium is inert, and has no charge and no magnetism. Nevertheless, it can be detected because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny amount of Pelosium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.

Dear Mr. Rand,

Recently you sent us a letter encouraging us to renew our lapsed membership in AARP by the requested date. I know it is not what you were looking for, but this is the most honest response I can give you. Our gap in coverage is merely a microscopic symptom of the real problem, a deepening lack of faith.

While we have proudly maintained our membership for several years and have long admired the AARP goals and principles, regrettably, we can no longer endorse it's abdication of our values. Your letter specifically stated that we can count on AARP to speak up for our rights, yet the voice we hear is not ours. Your offer of being kept up to date on important issues through DIVIDED WE FAIL presents neither an impartial view nor the one we have come to embrace. We do believe that when two parties agree all the time on everything presented to them, one is probably not necessary. But, when the opinions and long term goals are diametrically opposed, the divorce is imminent. This is the philosophy which spawned our 200 years of government.

Once upon a time, we looked forward to being part of the senior demographic. We also looked to AARP to provide certain benefits and give our voice a power we could not possibly hope to achieve on our own. AARP gave us a sense of belonging which we no longer enjoy. The Socialist politics practiced by the Obama administration and empowered by AARP serves only to raise the blood pressure my medical insurance strives to contain. Clearly a conflict of interest there!

We do not understand the AARP posture, feel greatly betrayed by the guiding forces that we expected to map out our senior years and leave your ranks with a great sense of regret. We mitigate that disappointment with the relief of knowing that we are not contributing to the problem anymore by renewing our membership. There are numerous other organizations which offer discounts without threatening our way of life or offending our sensibilities.

This Obama Administration scares the living daylights out of us.. Not just for ourselves, but for our proud and bloodstained heritage. But even more importantly for our children and grandchildren. Washington has rendered Soylent Green a prophetic cautionary tale rather than a nonfiction scare tactic. I have never in my life endorsed any militant or radical groups, yet now I find myself listening to them. I don't have to agree with them to appreciate the fear which birthed their existence. Their borderline insanity presents little more than a balance to the voice of the Socialist mindset in power. Perhaps I became American by a great stroke of luck in some cosmic uterine lottery, but in my adulthood I CHOOSE to embrace it and nurture the freedoms it represents as well as the responsibilities it requires..

Your website generously offers us the opportunity to receive all communication in Spanish. ARE YOU KIDDING??? Someone has broken into our 'house', invaded our home without our invitation or consent. The President has insisted we keep the perpetrator in comfort and learn the perp language so we can communicate our reluctant welcome to them.

We travel for a living.. Walt hauls horses all over this great country, averaging over 10,000 miles a month when he is out there. He meets more people than a politician on caffeine overdose. Of all the many good folks he enjoyed on this last 10,000 miles, this trip yielded only ONE supporter of the current administration. One of us is out of touch with mainstream America . Since our poll is conducted without funding, I have more faith in it than one which is power driven.
